What is the best time to cruise in Montenegro?

Summer season lasts from May until the end of October. July and August are the hottest months with temperatures of 30 – 35 degrees C. Peak season is the last week in July and first half of August. May and October are warm enough for swimming but with shorter day light in October.

How do we get to Montenegro?

Most visitors to Montenegro usually come by plane. More and more are landing in Tivat Airport since EasyJet connected budget-flights with Manchester and London. RyanAir lands in Podgorica Airport. And dozens of budget-airplines land in Dubrovnik Airport which is 20min drive from Montenegro border and additional 50minutes drive from departure point for our cruise. For those who land on Tivat Airport we organise FREE transfer to gulet and return.

Do I need a visa to come to Montenegro or Croatia ?

Foreign visitors do not normally require visas to enter Montenegro. Citizens of the U.S., the U.K., EU countries, Russia, Australia and New Zealand DO NOT need visas for Montenegro. For other countries please check with our embacy in your country.
Note that beacuse we are traveling to Croatia also, You must check if You need VISA to Croatia. If You are Russian You WILL NEED Visa in order to enter Croatia.

Which type of charter is available on Patronice?

There are 2 types of chartering: private and cabin charter.
Private Charter: Chartering a private gulet offers you ultimate comfort and flexibility on itinerary and menu. The Gulet and crew are dedicated to your party only.
Cabin Charter: If you have difficulties to compose a group or if you want to be alone you can join one of our regular tours and charter one or more cabins. You will have a chance to meet people from all around the world while enjoying one of the most unique and relaxing holidays on the Adriatic. The itinerary, menus and ports of embarkation and disembarkation for the Cabin Charters are set and cannot be altered.

What is the booking procedure?

If you are indecisive or not having sufficient funds at the moment you may reservate your cruise onboard gulet Patronice for just 30% of the complete fee. Rest of the amount is paid when You board on to ship where You can pay via cash or credit card.

What is included in the price?

Food, harbour & marina fees, insurance, crew, fuel, fresh water, electricity, garbage removal, use of equipment on board and cleaning.

Is it possible to embark and disembark from different ports ?

No, it is possible only to start and end Your journey in Tivat marina on Sundays.

Do I need insurance ?

Patronice is ensured by top rated Insurer. Compulsory liability and Personal injury and voluntary Marine policiy cover vessel and passengers. You may wish to consider buying your own Personal Accident or Medical Insurance.

What day of the week Patronice charters start ?

On Sundays.

Can we book a cruise for more or less than 7 days ?

Minimum we accept is 7 days. But in case You need more than 7 days please be free to contact us.

Will our gulet Patronice cruise at night ?

Usually, we do not sail during the night except in unpredictable circumstances caused by weather. Patronice is well equipped and skilled crew is capable for night navigation.Under special arrangements we could offer night transitions.

Can we sleep in cabins during hot weather, any A/C?

July/August could be hot, sometimes up to 36 deg C. At sea it is always cooler than on the land due to sea and fresh breeze. Very seldom air-conditioner is required. In 2012 summer we run A/C just for 2 hours. Patronice has Webasto A/C in every cabin. Besides, professional 360 deg cabin Caframo fans in every cabin are very helpful in that sense.

What about my cellular phone coverage on the Adriatic?

In any cruising area at any time you’ll have connection.

May I charge my cellular phone while onboard Patronice?

Yes. Onboard gulet Patronice there is permanent supply of 220V AC and 12 V DC for phone charging.

What is the electricity supply onboard?

220 Volts AC and 12Volts DC.

I like reading, can I read evenings in my cabin?

Yes, Patronice is installed with special reading goose neck led lamps. There is a small library in saloon of popular titles for your use.

Do we have Internet access while onboard Patronice ?

Yes, Internet connectivity is available through Patronice’s internal Wi-Fi.

What if I need a doctor?

Our crew has First Aid training. Montenegro & Croatia have modern well-equipped hospitals. Emergency Rooms with first aid facility are in almost all ports we call.

Will we suffer of seasick?

Gulet Patronice is heavy and quite stable. We always tend to avoid rough seas offering alternative routes. The Adriatic has a thousand islands and there is always calm route to choose from. Still, if you are prone to seasickness, as a precaution you could bring your favorite medicine or pressure bands. We have seasick tablets on board.

What currency can we use in Montenegro & Croatia ?

In Montenegro we use EURO while in Croatia local currency Kuna is used. Although some restaurants may accept Euros this is more favor than a rule. There is no such thing as exchange black market. ATM machines are in almost all ports we visit so You can withdraw money in local currency or You can pay via credit card in places whicha accept this payment method.

What we need extra cash for?

Taxi fares, bar drinks, extra meals, land excursions, national parks entrance and personal shopping.

Do the captain and crew speak English?

English is spoken onboard Patronice.

Is there any lifesaving equipment onboard?

Regularly inspected, Patronice is furnished with lifejackets in each cabin (for adults and children), Liferafts on the top of the roof and life saving rings located on side riggings.

How many crew members Patronice has?

Captain, seaman and cook.

Should we tip the crew?

Tipping is not mandatory. It is a sign of appreciation for good service and is customary as such in Montenegro. It is entirely at your discretion. As a rough guideline between 5 – 10% of your charter fee would be appropriate if you feel your crew has provided a good service. It is usually given to the captain at the end of the charter and divided equally among the crew members.

Is it safe to leave passports and valuables in our cabins?

There is always crew onboard Patronice. Our crews are completely honest. Each cabin is installed with electronic personal safe box.

Can you cater to special diets – vegetarian, gluten free etc?

In such needs just have to let us know in advance and we will prepare.

What should we bring?

We have experienced in many occasions customers fetching heavy trunks with loads of clothes and using just a small content. Swimwear, towels, shorts, T-shirts, sandals, sweater for cooler evenings are all you really need. These may be even purchased on local markets. Further; hats, caps, sun and reading glasses and sunprotection cream. Also, photo/video cameras, music gadgets, laptop and phone with charger are mostly needed.

Are there towels on board?

Yes, we supply shower and beach towels. You are more than welcome to fetch your own.

Can we do laundry on board?

Beside bathing suits it is not allowed to laundry onboard. But we can arrange outer service.

Is there music system? May we fetch our own music selection?

Yes, there is well systemized music system with 6 speakers on aft and fore deck. Your music you may be brpught on CD, USB, iPod and any smartphone.

Could you arrange transfer to/from airport?

As a matter of fact we offer FREE RETURN AIRPORT TRANSFER FROM TIVAT AIRPORT to our ship. In case You plan to arrive from other Airport (Podgorica or Dubrovnik) please send email to us and we will organise for You a very cheap transfer since You are our guest.

Does Patronice set sails?

Yes, whenever we have convenient wind we set sails. Patronice is well equipped sailing yacht and we grab any possibility to harness fair winds and enjoy sea gliding without engine rumor.

Is a gulet cruise on Adriatic suitable for small children?

To avoid any incidents with small kids and make everyone enjoy calm cruise we have policy not to accept childrens up to 12 years on board.

What may I do on my cruise?

There are many things that you can do on a Adriatic coast explore gulet cruise holiday. You may swim in private coves and virgin beaches, sunbathe, use the water toys or canoe, play board games, fish, read, enjoy scenery and relax. Besides you may visit historical sites, ancient cities and museums. You may meet new friends, locals or foreigners; enjoy local restaurants, nightlife or just shop. You may attend sport activities or document your unforgettable cruise with your camera.

Is smoking permitted on board?

Smoking is allowed on decks. For safety reasons, as well as for the comfort of guests, smoking is not permitted inside the yacht.

Am I allowed to bring my pet on board?

Pets are not allowed onboard for several reasons. The crew is required to maintain rigid cleanliness standards for all their guests. There is a potential of allergens from animals remaining aboard. Animals are typically not accustomed to the strict confinement of a ship and an active cruising itinerary can be quite uncomfortable for pets. Just like humans, animals can also be sensitive to the effects of motion and may become disoriented and lethargic.

Can we bring along our own snorkeling and scuba equipment?

There are usually masks and flippers on board. Scuba diving equipment is not allowed.

Can we bring our own drinks on board?

No. It is not allowed to bring own drinks, unless agreed differently. There is a bar onboard Patronice with a good selection of soft and spirit drinks.
